Registratie EU-burger om te stemmen voor de verkiezingen van het Europees Parlement

Wilt u als EU-burger in Nederland stemmen voor de verkiezingen van het Europees Parlement? Dan moet u zich laten registeren als kiezer in Nederland. Dit moet uiterlijk 6 weken voor de volgende Europese Parlementsverkiezingen. Heeft u de nationaliteit van een land dat geen lid is van de EU? Dan mag u niet stemmen.
Let op: U kunt in Nederland alleen stemmen voor de Nederlandse kandidaten voor het Europees Parlement. Heeft u zich bij de vorige verkiezingen van het Europees Parlement al geregistreerd als kiezer? Dan hoeft u dit niet nog een keer te doen.
Heeft u een DigiD? Dan kunt u zich met uw DigiD digitaal registeren als kiezer in Nederland. U kunt zich via ons formulier registreren.
Persoonlijk, aan de balie
Kunt u de aanvraag niet online doen? Dan kunt u langskomen in het gemeentehuis en hier het aanvraagformulier invullen. Neem uw paspoort of identiteitskaart mee. U kunt hiervoor een afspraak maken via onze website of door te bellen naar 0592 266 662.
Heeft u zich aangemeld om te stemmen voor de Nederlandse leden van het Europees Parlement? Maar wilt u toch liever stemmen voor het land waarvan u de nationaliteit hebt? Dan moet u uw aanvraag eerst intrekken!
Dit kan online of persoonlijk aan de balie. Hieronder leest u hoe dit moet.
Digitaal
Hiervoor moet u op de website dezelfde stappen doorlopen als bij de aanvraag. En bij de vraag ‘Deelnemen aan Europese verkiezingen’ kiest u dan voor ‘Nee’.
Persoonlijk, aan de balie
Of u komt naar het gemeentehuis en vult daar een formulier in om uw aanvraag in te trekken. U kunt uw aanvraag intrekken tot en met 6 weken voor de volgende verkiezingen van het Europees Parlement. Als u de aanvraag niet op tijd intrekt, dan kunt u niet stemmen voor het land waarvan u de nationaliteit hebt.
Als u wilt stemmen voor het land waarvan u de nationaliteit hebt, dan hoeft u niets bij de gemeente aan te vragen. Kijk op de website van het Europees Parlement wat u moet doen om te stemmen voor het land waarvan u de nationaliteit hebt: elections.europa.eu/nl/how-to-vote/

Do you want to vote for the European Parliament in the Netherlands? And do you have a nationality of one of the EU member states? You can register to vote for the European Parliament in the Netherlands. You can register as a voter until 6 weeks before the next elections of the European Parliament.
Do you have the nationality of a non-EU member state? Then you cannot vote for the European Parliament. Only residents with an EU nationality can vote for the European Parliament in the Netherlands.
Please note: If you vote in the Netherlands, you can only vote for the Dutch candidates for the European Parliament. You will not be able to vote for the European Parliament in another European member state.
Have you already registered as a voter in the Netherlands? Then you do not need to do anything. You will automatically receive your voting pass (stempas).
If you wish to vote for the Dutch candidates for the European Parliament, you must apply for this no later than 6 week before the next election of the European Parliament. This can be done in two ways:
Register with DigiD
You can request to vote in the Netherlands digitally. You will need to log in with your DigiD. Please note that the application page is available only in Dutch. If you wish to view it in another language, you can use the translation feature in your browser. You can register with this form.
In person at the municipal office
Are you unable to apply online? Then you can visit the municipal office in Vries and fill out the application form. Remember to bring your passport or identity card. For the opening hours of the municipal office, please see www.tynaarlo.nl. You do need an appointment.
Have you applied to vote for the Dutch members of the European Parliament? But now wish to vote for the country of which you are a national instead? In that case, you must withdraw your application!
Digital
To do so, follow the same steps on the website as you did for the application. When asked ‘Deelnemen aan Europese verkiezingen’ (Participate in the European elections), select ‘Nee’ (No). Fill out this form to deregister with DigiD.
In person at the municipal office
Alternatively, you can visit the municipal office and fill out a form to withdraw your application. You can withdraw your application until 6 weeks before the next election of the European Parliament. If you fail to withdraw your application on time, you will not be able to vote in another EU member state.
